Memories don’t burn

I’ve spent 16 years in brand and PR, but journalism has always been my heart. I love getting to the bottom of what makes people tick and sharing their stories.

After the Marshall Wildfire took our home, I learned firsthand that memories don’t burn. Now each conversation opens a window into a different corner of the world, and helps families like yours take the trip.

Hallo. Ciao. Bonjour. Hej. Borderless friendships start on the playground.

Meet your host

Hey y’all, I’m Jordan

I’ve watched it happen on playgrounds all over the world. My kids only know a handful of words in the language, and the local kids pull them into the game anyway. They come running back to me beaming. Play is a universal language. Kids don’t have to speak the same one to be friends.

A few years ago, my family lost our home and all of our possessions in Colorado’s Marshall Wildfire. We had five minutes to get out. Not long after, an emergency surgery had me wondering if I’d wake up. I did, and I came out of it knowing exactly where I want my time to go: experiences with my people, not more stuff.

I’m your type A-minus big sister with a pile of library books, a slew of highlighters, and a good clipboard. Before we go anywhere, I dig in: the history, the food, the people, and what it’s actually going to be like with kids in tow.

I don’t believe motherhood means shelving your dreams. I think it means bringing the kids along. I’m figuring it out right alongside you, one conversation at a time.
